My journey into this medicine came through my study of Tai Chi & Qi Gong, which I first started practicing over 20 years ago with Peter Gilligan, to help me cope with a stressful career as a Senior Manager in the N. Ireland Health Service. As I became interested in its health benefits, I decided to learn more about Chinese medicine, and studied acupuncture and naturopathy in Dublin.

After graduation I decided to follow my passion and so I left my full time job to set up a clinic in Belfast. Having experienced and benefited from some Tuina on my visits to China, I recognised the power of this therapy for the body. So I continued my studies with Tuina Therapy Ireland (now INMI) to learn Tuina – often described as Chinese medical massage- reaching the advanced Diploma level. I also spent two weeks in China, in the prestigous Hangzhou TCM Hospital, treating patients using Tuina, learning from senior Consultants.

I continue to study and deepen my knowledge of this fascinating medicine, and I have now added a classical system of acupuncture known as Jade Dragon, under Anthony Monteith. Jade Dragon acupuncture is an ancient classical style, often used to deal with emotional issues.

My vision is to expand the awareness of this wonderful medicine, and help to grow the community practicing these therapies and improving people’s health and well- being.

When I’m not working, I like to spend time with my long suffering husband – my greatest supporter. I enjoy hill walking with a local club, walking on the beach, and thinking about perhaps swimming when it’s warmer!
